The Junior Red Angus Association (JRA) is focused on building breed and industry leaders by developing programs that offer members opportunities to strengthen their knowledge of beef cattle and improve their individual breeding programs, while developing necessary life skills such as team work, self-confidence, and communication ability.
The JRA Board of Directors offers leadership development beyond the boundaries of local or state groups. Directors are elected to the eight-member board each year at the annual meeting held in conjunction with the Red Angus Youth Expo.
Responsibilities of the Junior Board
JRA Board members play a key role in developing and executing programs and events that benefit junior members and promote the Red Angus breed. They participate in JRA Board meetings, where new and ongoing initiatives are discussed, and decisions about JRA activities are made. Additionally, board members are expected to attend and assist in organizing shows, field days, and conferences where junior members are actively involved.
